Alfonso Vallejo was a playwright, poet, painter, and neurologist who lived in Spain. He’d written 34 plays and 25 poetry collections. In 1976, Vallejo received the Lope de Vega Prize for his play “El desgüace.” In 1975, “cido Sulfrico” came in second place. For his work A Tumba Abierta, he was awarded the Internacional Tirso de Molina medal in 1978. Vallejo received the Fastenrath Award for “El cero transparente” from the Spanish Royal Academy (Real Academia Espaola) in 1981.
Alfonso Vallejo was a Medical Pathology Professor who worked at one of Madrid’s leading hospitals. In 1966, he graduated from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid as a medical doctor, and he continued his education in Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Denmark.
