Bruce Johnson, also known as C. Bruce Johnson, was a television news anchor and reporter for WUSA 9 (CBS) in Washington, D.C. His areas of specialization included politics and urban affairs, as well as investigative and hard-hitting feature stories. His personal narrative included never knowing his biological father, training to be a priest, and being the first in his family to graduate from college. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences bestowed 22 Emmy Awards on Johnson (NATAS). Johnson belonged to the National Press Club (NPC), the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi. He was a national advocate for heart attack and cancer survivors. Johnson received the NATAS Board of Governors Award in 2018.
