Rosita Sokou worked as a journalist, author, playwright, and translator in Greece. She was one of Greece’s first female journalists, beginning her career as a film critic in 1946. After marrying Manlio Maradei, an Italian journalist and author, she relocated to Rome, Italy. She returned back to Greece with her daughter to resume her work after struggling to make a living and a career in Italy. She rose to fame as a panelist on the TV show “Na I Efkeria” from 1977 to 1983. She went on to anchor her own TV show, “Visitors at Night,” on New Channel from 1992 to 1993. She worked as a translator for a number of writers. She was also active in the theatre, writing plays, adaptations, and other works. She also published books and received honors for her Greek journalism from both the French government and Greece.
