Bùi Diễm was South Vietnam’s ambassador to the United States under President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu. He played a key role in the last desperate attempt to secure US$722 million in military aid to defend South Vietnam against the North in 1975.
Mr. Bui Diem, who was the Ambassador of Republic of Viet Nam (South Viet Nam before 1975) in The US of America in 1967-1972, passed just away at 10AM on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in Washington at the age of 98 years.
