David Fox CM was a Canadian actor who lived from March 24, 1941 to November 13, 2021. In 1940, Fox was born in Swastika, Ontario. [1] He was well known for his performance as Clive Pettibone, a schoolteacher in Road to Avonlea, and for a number of television roles. In The Adventures of Tintin, he was also the voice of Captain Haddock. He received a Genie Award nomination in 1996 for the film When Night Falls, and a Gemini Award nomination in 2008 for the television miniseries Across the River to Motor City. Fox also appeared in a number of theatre performances, including The Farmer’s Revolt, Quiet in the Land, Nothing Sacred, The Drawer Boy, and King Lear in 1837.
